From what I've found so far, daytime temperatures range from 18C to 27C. Evening ranges from 8C to 21C. It seems that it will be very warm almost everyday during our trip with noticeably cooler night time temperatures when we visit the mountain regions. Rain is anticipated in the Changbaishan region.
I've used Accuweather.com and Weather.com website to obtain the weather forecasts of each city for the month of September.

What to wear
Short or long sleeves during the day. As we move from north to southern parts of China, the temperature will remain fairly constant in the mid 20s. Sweat-top or light jacket for the evenings.
Wear a hat during the day to keep the sun off the head.
As rain is forecast for Changbaishan, a raincoat is essential. Perhaps an umbrella as well. Make sure to wear good walking shoes with comfortable soles and take extra care when walking on the mountain in the rain. If you have fold-able walking sticks, you might want to bring them.
